So I wanted to write and let you know it's not you. You are not the reason that you may be failing in mlm. There are so many reasons why mlm is difficult. Think about the people at the top of these multi-million dollar organizations. Imagine how they do it. They have teams and friends that move with them from company to company, so of course they can make the money. The money that people talk about in mlm. There are very few people who are making the kind of money you believe you can make in mlm.

Now that being said, you CAN do it with help. You can do it with determination. You can do it with motivation. AND patience!! Lots of patience!!

Many people ACT like they are making it in mlm, but really it's a facade.
They are actually told to "ACT as IF and Go as THOUGH!"

This however is excellent advice.

Act as if you are making it and are successful and go as if you are! This will help to give you the right kind of mindset. Be positive!

Don't let the negative thoughts overcome you. Once the negative thoughts set in and take over, you are DONE!

So be positive and believe you can do it. Act as if you are doing it and you will...EVENTUALLY!

Here is some advice to help you succeed:
1. ASK for help!
2. Get support from your upline!
3. Don't take NO for an answer!
4. Choose a company that you believe in!
5. Research the company FIRST!
6. Choose a company with products that you can use!
7. Choose a company that has a relevant target market!
8. Choose a company with an EXCELLENT compensation plan!

I personally always believe a health company will work. However, there is much competition out there with health companies. So be choosy and make sure they have an excellent compensation plan.

Finally ASK for help! Ask for help! Ask for help!

Do You Get Discouraged?

So you are working on a business and trying to make it work.
But it's NOT working. You wonder why and try to figure it out.
Do you need a blog, a website, or more friends?

What do you do?

Well, first of all, yes it is a good idea to have all of the above...
blog; website; friends

But this all has to be natural, you can't force anyone to do anything...
ultimately it has to be their decision. So the best way to do this
is to improve your relationships

Focus on communication not your own satisfaction...and it will come.
It may take awhile however.

Remember the ones who are making it 'big' in the network marketing industry
often bring their entire downlines with them from program to program.

While you may be starting from scratch...

Keep Your New Year's Resolution

Do you know how to keep your new year's resolution? You may be surprised, but not many people even make a new year's resolution, let alone keep it. Although it may be difficult to make a new year's resolution, I recommend you do. If you do take the first step to make a resolution then don't stop there.

You just need to know how to keep your new year's resolution.

So, here are some tips to help you keep your new year's resolution...

First, decide what your new year's resolution will be. You may have many, but choose the most important one to you and focus on that one. This way you will have more motivation to actually keep it.

Second, once you have decided what your new year's resolution should be, write it down! By writing it down, this will help you to keep your new year's resolution. It is easy to say oh I am going to lose weight this year; or I am going to make lots of money this year; or I am going to spend more time with my family; or I am going to smile more this year. But to actually do it, is another story.

Third, once you have written it down, read it over and over again. Read it daily and even hang it up or frame it. This will help you to focus on it and remember it daily. It will make it real; not just something you hope will happen.

One suggestion is to buy a journal and write down your new year's resolution in it. You can write it down over and over again to help you remember it. Journals are also great for writing general things down that may just 'pop' into your mind that you don't want to forget.

*Then make your plan as to how you want to achieve this goal or resolution...

By just making a new year's resolution, this shows that you are looking toward your future and you have some kind of goal. It shows that you are not simply satisfied with the day to day routine and boredom. By making a new year's resolution you are showing that you want to better yourself.

This is important!

I believe everyone should want to better themselves and do something positive for their future. This shows determination and motivation.

It also shows you want to be successful.

A great resolution is to change your mind, change your attitude and change your outlook!

Expand your thoughts and grow your mind!

How to Remember Your Business, while Getting Ready for the Holidays.

It's time to celebrate and get ready for the holidays again. How exciting! There are houses to decorate, trees to put up and lots of food to be made; baking to be done. Plus, of course visiting with friends and family. So what do you do about your business during this busy time?

Well, for one thing remember, most everyone is doing some kind of celebrating, but there are still some who you may be able to connect with and find via social media. There are some people still working out there 24/7. As we know also, people are generally using social media like Facebook and Twitter throughout the holidays to communicate with friends and family. So you can as well...

The holidays are a time to relax and wind down, while getting ready for the new year ahead. So you will find there is not as much going on, but you can still make your business a success. Be out there when you have a chance and keep your business going. You don't want to fall too far behind, as you will find it more difficult to get back on track in the new year.

Always remember to stay one step ahead and you will feel better. This will result in less stress and less to do when everyone else is trying to rush to get back to work. You will be one step ahead.

Some things you might consider doing during the holidays include: writing blogs; adding friends; sending emails; and communicating with others daily. If you need help with writing blogs or any of the above, be sure to ask.

While out celebrating, this generally involves communicating with friends and family. This is a time when you can chat and ask them how things are going. Ask them how their business is and how things are for them. Always be sure to keep it light. Remember you want to always be there to help others.

So if you are wondering about how to keep your business going during the holidays, try doing something daily, but be sure to have a wonderful and exciting holiday season.

I was watching a video today of an individual whom I have incredible respect for and admiration.

He manages a large group of people and has a very high profile position in the army. I was watching a video of him talking with young students. Now aside from him having an important position, he took the time out of his busy day to talk to students. This made me even more impressed.

As a teacher myself, I have incredible respect for children and anyone who chooses to help them in any way. So this man spoke to the class and taught them about leadership, values and things that are really important in life.

He mentioned how important it is to be able to work as a team. This is so true, it is important to be able to put aside your own wishes to be able to work with others and help out each other. Each person in the team is important in order to accomplish certain tasks.

Although we like to think we can do it all on our own, we do need people to rely on, to help us and to succceed as a whole.

But one of the most important things this person spoke about was helping others. The best part of being a leader is taking care of people, he said. This is so true. We need to take care of each other, be supportive and help each other.

An example of leaders are teachers. They are leaders and are responsible to take care of their students. They help people every single day.

As a teacher myself and an online coach I completely agree...the most important part of being a leader is taking care of people and helping others.

More Blogging Tips - "Establishing" - by Jill Ann Bromwich

Here are more blogging tips for you, as promised...

I like to establish plans and goals, so that is why I am basing more blogging tips on "Establishing", in other words, you should establish how you want to set up your blog and what it will be based upon even before you begin to write your first blog.

1. Establishing Goals...
Be sure you know what you want to write about. Is your blog based on a product or service? Do you want to write for fun or is it a business-related blog?

2. Establishing an Audience...
Figure out who you are writing to, because this will help you decide how to write and what to write. If you have a younger audience then they might expect something fun, while if your audience is more of a business professional then they might prefer something business related and to the point.

The type of audience may also depend on what your goals are...

3. Establishing Consistency...
As I mentioned in my previous blog, you should try writing a blog at least once a week. In the beginning though when starting your blog, try writing more often than that in order to establish an audience and gain reader loyalty...

4. Establishing a Style of Writing...
Once you decide who your audience is you can choose a style of writing that works for that type of audience. Or you may have your own flair for writing, which is great, just go with it!

5. Establishing a Network...
It is a good idea to find like-minded bloggers and friends out there so that you can comment on their blogs and they can do the same. This will help to get you known on the Internet. Also be sure to use social networks like Facebook and Twitter etc.

I thought I better leave a note here with some blogging tips, since I have been slacking off lately with my blogging, ooops.

Oh well, that's the nice thing about blogging, you can write blogs whenever you feel like writing and when you get an inspiration for a blog. Really you can write a blog anytime...

A blogging tip that is recommended:

1. To write blogs at least once a week, which many social networkers might suggest or even daily if you can manage the time.

Another Tip:

2. You know, when blogging, the blog doesn't have to be like writing a book, as a matter of fact it is much better to write a couple of paragraphs per blog, rather than a big, long article, which your readers might not bother to read or even have time to read.

The Third Tip:

3. A suggestion is to make shorter sentences, not long ones. That way the reader can stay focused.

Tip Number Four:

4. Also, be sure to separate the paragraphs so blogs are easier to read and not as straining on the reader's eyes.

Tip Number Five:

5. Another blogging tip is to use ... (dot, dot, dot), as this keeps the reader interested and wanting to know what comes next...

Don't Wait Around by Jill Ann Bromwich

One thing I have learned from being in this industry for six years is JUST DO IT! Don't wait around for things to happen. You may think things will get better and hope for things to change, but nothing will change unless you do something about it, so don't wait around.

Now I completely believe, however that you should have help in this effort, but you MUST show that you are willing to work too. If you then do not get the proper help then search around for someone who is willing to help, don't wait around for someone.

So here are some tips to keep you busy:
1. Ask for help everyday!
2. Show that you want it as badly as you say you do.
3. Ask questions, questions and more questions.
4. Make proper use of Social Media.
5. Have a DMO, Daily Method of Operation.
6. AND "Don't wait around!"

A SCAM or not a SCAM? by Jill Ann Bromwich

A scam can happen to anyone. So be aware!

Imagine a young, single mom at home with her babies, trying to make ends meet. Or a family with little or no opportunity to get ahead. On the other hand imagine a mom who just wants to stay home with her children so she doesn't have to send them to be minded by a stranger or have to pay for the high daycare costs. She can be persuaded by a scam.

Then again imagine a motivated person trying to do everything in his/her power to make it big or a highly educated human being with the get up and go to get ahead!

Does this sound like someone you know or even you?

There are many SCAMS out there and anyone can be fooled by them, no matter how smart they are. These "SCAMMERS" are good! They know how to get to you and even take advantage of your hopes and dreams to "MAKE it BIG" in today's world. These "SCAMMERS" know how to do it, they are very sly, incredibly nice and try to offer you the world.

If it has happened to you please be sure to take action. Believe it or not it has even happened to me. I have been "SCAMMED" by these so-called "GET RICH" schemes. Not because I am stupid, but because I LOVE my family and want to give them a good life; the best that life has to offer...

AND these "SCAMMERS" know how to get to you...

I have been in network marketing now for over six years. Partly because I have chosen to be home with my son while he is growing up and to take care of him without sending him to a stranger. Also, because I want to give my family the BEST that life has to offer while being at home.

So through many trials and tribulations I have actually found something that is profitable, honest, trustworthy and even FUN! I won't lie to you though and say it's easy...

It takes work and dedication just like anything out there.

...AND I do know that others can't build your business for you, but when they SAY that they will build it and you don't have to unless you choose to then THAT is what they should stand by!! AND I DON'T mean paying you $1 for it...(ooops got a little off track there...)

So yes, I may be gullable and yes I may be foolish sometimes to think that I could actually be successful on the Internet...(as I have been told), but I am doing it, will do it and will NOT let anyone stand in my way!

Including the "SCAMMERS" out there.

I previously wrote an article about managing your time while working at home. This seems to be difficult for many people when trying to work at home with family responsibilities as well.

So this here is part two to that article…
I have been working at home for about three years now ever since my son was born. In my opinion, it is the best thing that anyone could imagine! Why would you want to go out to work in that daily commute when you could be home with your family, while bringing in an extra income?

It may sound easy to be home, but it can become very challenging. How can you manage to build your business, while still being able to focus on the children?

I have found that you have to plan ahead. You must have things available for your child to do so that you can focus on your work, but you also need to separate work from family so that you spend quality time with them.

Decide what your priority is for the day. How much work needs to be done? Plan the number emails you will send out or the number of ads you need to post or the number of people you need to talk to per day. Once this is accomplished you can relax and spend quality time with your family, but how do you know the amount of work to be done in order to have a successful home business? It is recommended to do a minimum of five hours per week. To me this is not enough to be successful, however. I would suggest a minimum of ten to fifteen hours.

Balancing Work and Family-Part I

Balancing work and family life is important, however, it may not be as easy as it sounds. You have the benefits of being at home with your children, but how do you balance this with work and stay focused on what you are doing? Not only are you thinking of what you have to do next, but there is the dreaded chore of housework and meals to make. It takes a lot of self-discipline! You can manage your time in order to handle what distractions might come your way and have the best of both worlds, that of working at home without having a stressful commute. It sounds like the perfect solution.
Here are some tips for managing your time working at home and some ideas of how to do this. It is imperative that you plan ahead and write down your goals. Decide the best times of the day to work and balance these times with your family’s schedule. Your schedule may be different depending on whether you are an early bird or prefer to work at night when the children are in bed. You should have a designated work area and importantly, remember to take breaks so you will work more efficiently.

I enjoy helping others while working at home. So I help with anything from working online to editing and am always teaching. When I work with you I work with you. I will help you with whatever you need and will answer any question you have no matter how ’stupid’ you think it may be.

AND I will find out the answer for you if I am not 100% sure of it myself. I work with top marketers and have been trained from them. Speaking of which, they are some of the nicest people I have met.

If you are just starting out working online or even if you are a seasoned marketer, no question is ’stupid’ to me…

My husband once told me about a math teacher he had in highschool who made him feel ’stupid’ for asking a math question. Ever since then he has ‘hated’ math. To this day he gets upset with himself when he can’t figure out the answer. So we chatted about it and I found that it was due to this previous teacher who made him feel this way and totally NOT his fault. Could you imagine if the teacher answered the question nicely and professionally. My husband would feel so much better about math today.

Funny enough, now he is a Master Electrician and a Landscape Designer, both requiring lots of math.

Being a teacher myself I cannot imagine making someone feel this way. I don’t care how stupid the question is or if you have asked it ten times, I will answer it. I might remind you of the answer, but will always do it kindly. I would never treat my students that way. To this day when helping adults work online or when tutoring students I treat them with the respect they deserve.

So go ahead, ask me a ’stupid’ question or ask me it one hundred times…

I will help and you probably will NOT get a ’stupid’ answer!

Being Authentic and Real

Here are some tips about being authentic and real in your business, just like in your every day life.

1. "Practise Makes Perfect!"

The more you practise, the easier it gets! When you know you are being authentic and real with people, it just flows…it becomes natural to you, just like riding a bike.

2. "Become Passionate!"

By trying the products yourself, you become more passionate about them and will find it easier to talk to people. You will also become more passionate about the opportunity or business you are in. Also, you will begin to find it easier to share the opportunity, just like when you are sharing information about a new movie you saw!

3. “Helping Others!”

Helping others is essential in life and business. It makes you feel good to help people and especially makes them feel good. Think about it, they may really need the help and extra income in order to feed their family or spend more time with family.

4. “Don’t Be Selfish!”

Without meaning to sound harsh, it is selfish NOT to share your opportunity and tell people about it. Your business could help people save money, get healthy and/or make money. When looking for representatives don’t worry about losing a customer, think of it as gaining a team. There are always more just around the corner.

5. ”What Goes Around, Comes Around!”

When you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want. “What goes around, comes around.”

Be sure to be consistent, whether that means consistently talking to people or having a daily routine.

As your YOUR belief and passion grows, you will attract people like you never have before!!

So I would suggest to always look for free help and training, because it is available…

I also suggest taking advantage of the free trials. You can always cancel if you are not happy with the services you are getting.

I personally have tried a few of the free trials and they have ended up being quite successful for me.

There is so much training and help available that you have an opportunity to have your program paid for once the trial has ended and you end up getting paid for your efforts.

I have been working online now going on four years and am here to show you the ins and outs of what it takes to be successful online.

Is She Mad at Me?

The other day I called a friend to chat.

We are good friends, but sometimes have our disagreements. That’s what friends do right?

Well, I asked if she wanted to meet me at the local shopping mall. That’s what friends do, right?

She said, “No, not today, not a good time, gotta go…” Well, I was shocked, worried, upset…

“What did I do?”

“What did I say?”

I thought to myself, “I am never calling her again!”

Are these the words that go through your mind when talking to prospects?

You, have to realize…it is NOT about you!

My friend was just busy that day, had something she had to do, or maybe had a child that was getting into something…

We talked later in the week and she apologized…said she was sooooooooooo busy that day.

Remember, this can be the same type of scenario that happens when talking or calling people you want to join you.

They are not thinking about you, they are thinking about what they have to do that day or what’s in it for them.

It’s NOT about you!!

If you use this type of thought process when talking to people or calling on the phone, it will certainly help!!

It will remind you to keep going, there are so many people out there looking for help or who are not happy with their current situation.

So, never stop!

Time for Work at Home, but How?

Time for a new tip...

Think about it though, fifteen hours a week compared to forty hours at a regular job outside of the home...and you are with your family!

Working online especially can be very time consuming. So be careful!

You might focus on work for two hours at a time or even one hour at a time. Then spend an hour with your child. When you are making meals or doing the laundry be sure to include your child in these tasks, as they will feel proud to help, if they are younger that is...lol.

That way you are spending quality time, while getting chores done as well. Multitasking...as we like to say!

However, when your child is sleeping or at school is the most opportune time to get work done of course.

Play a game; colour; read lots of books; go to the library...

Remember, just because you have the opportunity to work at home, you are doing this for your family, so don't take the time away from them that they deserve!

A blog is similar to a personal journal or diary, but it is online. In a blog you can express yourself by sharing your thoughts, goals and dreams. A blog is like your own website that is updated on an ongoing basis. The word blog is actually a short form of the word weblog and the two words are used interchangeably.

Blogging is now considered a hobby and every day millions of people, with or without technical ability, write on their blogs. There are been many helpful tools for people to write blogs. With basic instructions you can write your blog. Through the Internet, bloggers are able to reach thousands of people everyday.

Let’s first discuss what you will need for your blog.

First you need software that will run your blog. Programs for blogs are similar to Microsoft Word that you use to create and read text documents. Blog programs allow you to write and publish a blog.

The second thing you need is a place on the Internet to put your blog. You will need a URL, which is an address for your blog so people will be able to find you. This is called "hosting".

You can choose to use a free blog site like Blogger or a paid one. With a paid site you will just get fewer features than what a paid site offers. If you use a paid site you can have more than one author on your. Sometimes in a free site you will find the host puts advertising on your blog. It is a good idea to try the free sites first to start blogging and see how you like it.

Once you signup for a Blogger account you are on your way.

You will need to create your account and then name your blog. Choose a name that represents what your blog will be about or make one using your full name. It is a good idea to have one with your name, as this begins to show you as a leader in your industry.

The next step is choosing a template. There are many amazing templates out there to choose from or you can use the ones supplied on Blogger or Yola. Just click on the top tab where it says template and you will see the free ones to choose from. Click right on the one you like. You will be able to see an example of it with your blog title in place.

Then you can start your first blog. You will want to have a page titled ‘about me’ and be sure to have a small paragraph about you so that people can get to know you from your blog.

There is a place to include your picture, which is again recommended so that people can put a face to the blog writer, so to speak.

Remember to have any pertinent information above the fold, as this is what people will see when they open your link. Some may or may not continue to scroll down, so you want them to see something above the fold that will keep them on your page including a picture of yourself if you choose.

Where Do I Find Leads?

As I mentioned in the previous blog, often your upline wants you to bring them leads that they will call with you, they say they will help you, but if you don't have leads for them...well they don't seem to be around...

...And when you do find leads, what happens if your upline isn't there to answer the questions that the leads may have?

Well, let's start with finding leads in the first place.
This may not be an easy task for many reasons:

1. There are many people who aren't interested in what you have to offer.
2. They don't want to be bothered.
3. They are too busy.
4. They don't have the money to join.
5. They don't trust the business or you for that matter.

...and the list goes on...

Anyhow, where are the people that might be interested? They can be found online, but it takes some work, they will not just come to you...you must go to them.

So, what I suggest is first building your lists online. You need to have somewhat of a following online in order to even be noticed. Getting noticed by your followers is another issue that we will discuss next.

But first let's build a following...

Let's start with Twitter and Facebook. They are by far the first most important networking sites to be on. There are many hidden ones where you can find network marketers, but starting out...begin at Twitter and Facebook.

This blog will focus on Twitter and Facebook will be discussed in the next blog.

1. Twitter Following:
Add, add and add more people. To do this just click on the square with the plus sign on the far right. Keep adding... I suggest adding people that are in network marketing already and are known in the industry. This makes you appear to also be an avid network marketer with many friends in the industry. Try adding people who may seem interested in what you are offering as well, but in general just keep adding people. What will happen is, you will start being noticed on your "following" and "follower'" pages and then their followers will start adding you too. This helps your list to grow and grow...

But don't think that 1,000, 2,000 or even 5,000 people is a large list; there are lists out there of over 10,000 and even 20,000 people for that matter...so keep adding people daily. The daily limit of Twitter is about 250.

2. Twitter Retweets:Retweeting on Twitter is a great way to build a following also. This gets you 'out there' and noticed by more people than you realize. When you retweet and post something that you like or that you find interesting, others may feel the same way and begin to notice you. By getting noticed this will also increase your followers, as people will continue to add you.

To Retweet, you can copy and paste the phrase you want to Retweet, but be sure to put 'RT' before the name of the person's 'tweet'.
For example: RT @ Jillblue (Retweet goes here...)

So when you are busy adding people on Twitter, people are also busy adding you, thus increasing those you are "following" and those who are following you, your "followers".

You could try acting as a leader in the industry, build your own sites and help others, but there are only a few real 'gurus' in the industry and the competition is getting tough out there, not to scare you...lol.

It is suggested to have your own blog and get it out there as much as possible. This will also get you noticed. Blogging will be featured in another blog of mine...

I do agree with trying to stand out online and be yourself and really the only way to standout, since so many things have been done online is to BE YOURSELF!

Down to the Basics

Everyone out there tells you about SEO and CEO and what to do about your business.

But what about the basics?

What do you need to know to get your business going or get into gear when you are just starting out?

Are you looking for help from your upline, but need more support?

Well, I would like to help you with that...

Sometimes your upline thinks that you should do the work, contact them and do more work. You should find the leads on your own and let them know so they can do a three-way call with you or talk to your prospects to complete the signup.

But, does this work in theory? They don't help until you bring them people...but you need people first!

They tell you when you find someone they will help, but do they help you find people in the first place?

Often that is what is needed...

People are still told to go to their 'warm market' first (family and friends)...but what if you don't want to bother your family and friends?

Well, they tell you, if you think you are bothering your family and friends you don't understand the products or the business. You need more belief in the products or whatever is being offered.

So what can help with this?

As far as finding leads, there are many ways to go about it, which I will explain in the following blog.

But for now...let's talk about family and friends.

As far as family and friends, I have had my share of 'bothering them'...lol. They are used to me telling about my businesses, but they still do not completely understand.

I do not pressure them in anyway and have finally learned not to go to them anymore. Well, except my mom, she has been the ultimate in supporting me!

So, don't let your upline make you feel like you must be pushy or that you have to go to your 'warm market' at all!

But, if you choose to contact family and friends, do so in a round about way. Don't come right out and say, "Hey, join my business!"

Consider a more subtle approach, like:
"I just found out how to make an extra income while being home with the family."
"I was at the store today and realized how lucky I am to work at home."

Try listening to people and find out what their issues are, then try to help them...always look for ways to help others:
"I found out about a new drink that helped my friend lose weight..."
"I just found out about a wonderful skincare line that is natural too..."
"I tried this amazing chocolate that is a probiotic too..."
"I finally found a supportive system in my business, where I am not alone..."
"I found out how to make money at home, so I can spend more time with my family..."

Then let them start asking questions and open the door so you don't feel like you are bothering them, but that you are answering their questions.

Who knows, they just might be interested!

What I suggest is to do some of each, build your lists online and chat offline if you are comfortable with it.

Will you plan to get organized?

Goals are plans of action that
Keep you on your toes.
They help you to get organized with
All things in rows.
There must be goals in your life,
To keep your spirits strong.
Goals can be short if you prefer,
They don't have to be too long.
They should also be achievable
And not far out of reach.
So think about it, think you must...

Being Productive During the Holidays

If you want to better your quality of life and spend more time with your family, then this is for you.

What are your plans for the new year? Have you planned your goals for the year to come?

Well, you should definitely take some time to make some plans and be sure to have them in writing. The plan should include how many hours per week you are going to spend on your business.

Here are some suggestions for building your business, while heading into the new year...and what to do over the holidays.

Being Productive!

If you usually spend at least ten to fifteen hours on your business per week or more that's terrific...

But, you might be wondering how to continue being productive, while getting ready for the holidays when you may not have as much time.

It is recommended to spend at least an hour or two on your business per week over the holidays. Although this may not even be possible, it does help to keep your business moving forward so that you can easily get it back up and running in the new year.

Whether it's one to two hours or ten to fifteen hours per week...this means being productive and doing things to help push your business forward.

This does not mean sorting papers and filing or cleaning off your desk. It also does not mean playing around on the Internet and chatting with friends.

*The hour or two should be a good solid hour of making calls or connecting with others about your business.

In an hour or two per week, however it may not be possible to do much, it is really just to keep some momentum going in your business. An hour or two of calls might be just enough time to pique some interest in your business, but there is much more to it than that, like following up with people.

Here is some advice from a friend and business colleague of mine, Kerry Pittington: "I think you should spend 80% of the allotted time in inviting and following up with people and 20% helping others."

By spending 80% of your time inviting and following up with people, whether it's an hour per week or fifteen hours per week you can definitely keep your business moving forward.

The time you spend helping others is important also to make sure they are plugged in or to answer any questions they may have. Helping others is essential to keep your business going and keep people motivated.

Cell Phone Tips

Today, while Christmas shopping I had to buy a new battery charger for my cell phone. Unfortunately, the chargers have a habit of breaking quite easily, so you have to be careful with them. I finally found this out after years of having a cell phone...now after talking with the salesman, I know this.

The salesman told me a child probably broke it by pulling on it and then put it back so noone would notice it was broken. I told him that my son is only three years old and wouldn't do such a thing...lol. Actually, I am likely the one who did it, since I am always rushing around...

Anyhow, be sure not to pull out the charger by the cord or you could break it.

Who knew?? lol

I also found out that when you charge your phone, from the car that is, you should only leave it charging for up to three hours at the most. I have a tendency to just leave the charger plugged in, but apparently that's not a good idea, as it can destroy the battery. Some of you may already know this, but just in case it's a good tip.

I realized today how important it is to have a cell phone, not only for business purposes, but for emergencies! My husband is in the hospital and my son with the in-laws. So, I was much needed today and didn't have my phone charged! That is why I rushed to get a new charger and now I will take much better care not to break it!

I am also planning to change cell phone plans for business purposes....for details please ask!

"Most people do Network Marketing everyday, but don't get paid for it."

COLOURS of PERSONALITIES

Previously, I studied the colours of personalities.
Did you know that our personalities are represented by colours and more specifically the primary colours?

RED, YELLOW, BLUE and GREEN...

There are many shades of colours that are beautiful for decorating a room or adding pizzazz to a painting, but now we know that colours even describe our personalities.

If you are into colours like I am, you will find this very interesting...

Recently, I attended a seminar with Tom Schreiter in the big city of Toronto, Ontario.
It was terrific! He likes to explain the colours in relation to personalities, which is what I am basing this on.

I will explain it here briefly and how each colour can be helpful for a team.

YELLOW: The YELLOW personality type is the helper. They love helping others and are concerned about others. They are kind, nice and caring. The people who are generally a YELLOW personality are moms, teachers and nurses, for example. The YELLOW's are important for the team, because they will do the work and followup with any of the necessary business.

BLUE: The BLUE personality likes to have fun. They want to party, love to talk and like adventure. They talk, talk, talk, but don't generally listen. The BLUE's are important for your team, because they like meeting people and aren't worried about talking to anyone.

GREEN: The GREEN personality is more reserved and likes to focus on the facts. They want to know the details and are often numbers oriented. You could consider accountants, engineers, editors and lawyers to have a GREEN personality. They are great to have on your team, because they know the important details that others might leave out.

Last, but not least, is the colour RED!

RED: The RED personality likes the money. They want to know everything about the money. They are often a 'Type A' personality and might be considered bossy. They can be CEO's or business owners for example. The RED's are important on a team, because they can run the organization.

Although I love the colour BLUE, I would not consider myself a BLUE personality, because I am not a talker. I would be primarily a YELLOW, because I want to help others and used to be a teacher. I am also a touch GREEN, because I love details, like when editing.

What colour is your personality?

Feel free to share it! If you are not sure then base it on your TRUE personality at rest, not on a work basis.

Ins and Outs of Network Marketing

I have been with many network marketing companies.
I have much experience with the ins and outs of the business.

Did you know that you don't need to talk to friends and family;
make so many three-way calls; or always listen to your upline
who keeps telling you to do the same thing and it will work EVENTUALLY...?

Don't always talk to people who are not interested in building a business.
You want to talk to people who know what they are doing. Network
marketing is sometimes like the blind leading the blind.

Really the people you need to talk to are those like:

Donald Trump...who know what they are talking about!

Here are some levels of growing your business that might help!

Level 1 = Learning how to grow your own business...

a) Prospecting does not mean phoning someone at random...it starts
with who YOU even want to talk to. You have to think about who YOUR
ideal prospect is, so try getting inside your prospect's mind.

What are their wants, needs and desires?

Think about the person's age or stage in life.
What's going to grab their attention?

b) Next think about their concerns...
Someone who wants to lose weight for example, is worried that if they
lose weight they don't want to put it back on again.

They are looking for a solution.

c) The presentation is important once you have a target market. You
should develop a presentation that solves a person's problem and tells
them how to do it. Try speaking directly to the person and help them
find a solution.

Don't keep talking about the opportunity...

The person is interested in you and how you can help them.

d) Next is closing...
Your responsibility as a closer is to help the person make a definite
decision whether it is yes or no and make sure they leave knowing why
they made that decision.

Make sure you take the time to care about them.
They will appreciate it!

e) You don'have to over qualify! Isn't it better to have:
20% to 40% of 100 people not 100% of only 1 person?

f) Next think: Are they a good fit? Do we get along?
Remember to think about yourself and what kind of team you want.
For example you probably don't want someone who doesn't have a
credit card and the want or need to build a business unless you want
a customer base as well.

Level 2 = Leverage Plan, Team and Time

a) You need to know the compensation plan to know where to place
people in your business and to know how to maximize the plan.

b) You should learn how to teach people to be independent leaders, that
way the three-way calls significantly reduce and you can spend your
time more positively.

c) Learn how to grow your income month after month.

d) It is a god idea to have a 30 day action plan showing people how to
add people daily without having to speak to friends and family. You want
to teach people how to grow a business so that you only have to manage
a few people in your top line and they can then manage their people.

e) You need to continue enrolling people...so your team sees that your
business won't just grow on it's own, it does take work.

f) Remember you need to manage a family, business, and free time. You
need to learn how to balance your business. If you spend all your time
growing your business you won't have the family in the end to share
your success with, on the other hand if you don't grow your business
you won't find the success you have been looking for.

Level 3 = Working Online: Learn how to generate leads effectively.

a) Try being ahead of the game, if you spend $100 and make $300
then you are ahead.

b) Effective Sales Copy on your site is essential so learn how to use it to
get what you want...

c) If you use a company website you might get 1 for every 300 people, but
with your own website as an expert, you may sign up 30 for every 300!

Learn how to drive traffic to your site:

a) Pay per click - Google, Yahoo
b) SEO - Search Engine Optimization
c) Web 2.0 - Trading Time for Money

Make it happen! After all this...
You may even decide network marketing is not for you, so...

Here are some things to think about...
a) If you don't plan to spend 10 hours a week, your business won't grow.
b) You need to invest or your business won't grow.
c) You need to learn how to build teams properly.
d) Don't reinvent the wheel.
e) Get proper guidance from the experts.
f) Follow a proven system.

Online Advertising Ideas

Help with Online Advertising...

1. Brand Yourself
It is recommended to brand yourself and not just focus on advertising the company sites. Get your name out there and have your own website. If you are unsure about making a website just ask, there is so much help available for website design. I would be glad to help as well, as I have worked on my own personal sites.

2. Put Yourself in Their Shoes
People do not like to be sold. They like to believe they are the ones making the decision whether to buy or not to buy. Or whether to join a company or not. Offer the customer benefits to them. Think about the potential customer or business builder...how will they benefit from your products or services. Put yourself in their shoes.

Here are some questions you might consider when thinking about them:

a) Does it fulfill a need?
b) Does it fit their current lifestyle?
c) How will it benefit them healthwise or moneywise?
d) Will it benefit them in the future?

3. Don't Push
Rather than putting your sales link up everywhere. Have your link somewhere in the background where people can find it. Don't push it on them, let them browse and find the information. Once you have a personal blog or site you should definitely put your company links there so that they are accessible.

Again...you don't want to push the company you want to portray yourself as the expert and available to offer help where needed.

The Dreaded Phonecall...

I had a wonderful conversation on the phone today...
Yes, on the phone...while calling leads.
Or should I say possible friends.

We were discussing how people in Network Marketing
are so into Social Media these days and networking online,

Which is terrific...it's great to do the Social Media thing and

"Tweet on Twitter"
or make friends on
"Facebook"...

But what is missing?

You can wait for days, months even years before you ever really
connect with these people online. You may think you are connecting,
but how many people are really just wanting to build their own
business and prospect you?

People seem to forget about how to use the phone.
Yes, a phonecall is necessary to really connect.

Now in many cases I have met terrific people online...I have some
fantastic friends and truly think it's amazing.

But, remember if you are really trying to build a business you must
talk to people. Get to know them first online and then make the call.

Don't be afraid of picking up the phone!

The funny thing is, I was with a training group that encouraged you
to call leads all the time and I didn't...lol.

I was afraid of what the person might say on the other end...or maybe
I just didn't really know what to say...

It took me awhile to learn this...so instead of calling people I kept
hoping and praying that if I kept meeting people online my business
would grow...

But how long would it take? Days, months, even years???

I was not prepared to wait that long...and I am sure you are not either.

So, what I am saying is pick up the phone...
The worst that can happen is the person says no or even hangs up on you...

No SWEAT!

Just go onto the next person and who knows you might even make a friend!
Call them like you were calling a friend not like another lead...
this will help you to feel more comfortable.

How has your summer been going?
I just got back from the cottage up north.

It was so nice to have a break...

but now back to the grindstone...

Well, not really, I just love what I do!

I work at home and spend time with my family,
so that's the best part...

But...

I also get to help others, which is
important to me.

I help others work at home; supplement their
income; get healthy; live a healthy lifestyle and have
a positive mindset.

Really, a positive mindset is where it's at!

If you try to stay more positive everything in your life
will follow suit.

You will even stay healthier overall, because there won't
be as much stress in your life...

And stress can cause or increase major health issues like:

Autoimmune Diseases: (Celiac disease, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.)
Arthritis
Cancer

Give, Give, Give & Be Positive

Do you often think about others?
Is helping others something important to you?

I would like to take a moment to talk about the theory
of:

"What You Give Away, You Get to Keep!"

I have definitely been thinking more 'people friendly',
doing more and giving more. I have learned more and
more, that people matter.

It is people first and then 'self' not the other way around.

I have also read some excellent books about being a 'good
news merchant' that you might like.

Did you realize that when you put others first it also makes
you feel better in return?

If you tend to feel down or always upset try taking the negative
thoughts off yourself and start thinking about others.

It really will help.

Think about this...

You will get it back. You will even find that this is good for
business.

I am not saying that you should expect anything in return, but
by being nice to others, you will certainly get a good feeling
deep inside.

Maybe you just offer a simple smile, but it is always something
positive.

Also, the more people you meet, the more good you invite into your
life and the more chances you will have to be good to others.

Listeners vs. Know It Alls

I listened to a terrific call yesterday about mindset training
with Joe Schroeder. It was so amazing!

He is definitely worth listening to!
He is a terrific mentor and master marketer.

During the call he was discussing the art of listening.

Listening is important in any business in order to learn.
Listening is not just important for the employer to know
and understand what their boss wants, but for the boss
to know what keeps his employees motivated.

Could you imagine if no one listened and everyone just did as
they pleased?

In the network marketing industry, listening is also essential.
Listening is how we learn. You can’t learn if you don’t listen.

Often those who listen well are also the ones who have
something important to say.

Have you ever carried on a conversation with someone and
they only said about eight words throughout?

Do you remember what they said?
Were you listening?

Sometimes the person who says the least just might surprise
you with what they say.

Now think about this scenario...

When was the last time you were trying to have a conversation,
but could not get a word in edgewise?

The people who talk, talk, talk rarely listen and think they know it
all. Often, however, they don’t have the facts, because they don’t
stop talking long enough to listen.

So next time be sure to listen to the one with fewer words, they
just might surprise you and you might learn something!

What Makes You Laugh?

I was on an excellent training call yesterday with the great, Diane Hochman and learned I should be more myself, be more relaxed. Yes, this is something even I have to work on.

I am so used to being serious about work and education, that sometimes I forget to just have a laugh, but there is a part of me that loves to have fun and be silly.

Can you think of the last thing you laughed about that made tears come to your eyes? What do you like to do to have fun?

I love to have fun with my son, honestly he makes me laugh the most. I love to go to the ice cream shop. I often pretend I am treating my son to an ice cream, but the truth is I love 'Gold Medal Ribbon' from Baskin Robbins.

I love going to the zoo to see the amazing animals. We just went with my son's class in May. We might also go to the water park this summer and maybe hit Canada's Wonderland too. Not just for my son, but because I love going too!

Social Media is the new marketing 'craze' and if you haven't
decided to market yourself in this way, you certainly should.

First, you should become familiar with this marketing medium.
These sites provide the perfect opportunity for you to meet other
like-minded individuals, network and it's a very important
part of working online.

Another key element of networking is developing 'relationships'
with people online. You can begin to build trust with people by
offering valuable resources and information.

The more 'friends' you make online, the more likely your information
will get into the hands of the people you are looking for. When adding friends, look for people who share a common interest. If you have children, consider adding moms to your list.

Maybe you have health issues you would like to talk about with others.
Also, you can look for people living near you. Adding people with a similar interest is a great place to start.

A great idea is to invite others who currently work from home
and seem to have a successful business!

Do you get upset when something doesn't go your
way or can you rise up and get past it?

attitude when you listen, communicate and

You might think that your attitude is affected by
your mood, but really it has to do with how you
respond to what happens to you whether it be
positive or negative.

1. Relying on One Marketing Medium

- get to know your prospects

- be versatile with mediums

- be balanced don't just use one medium, use a variety

2. Expecting Tools to Do all the Work for You

- don't expect your web site to do all the work

- it cannot take the place of a live, personal relationship

3. Expecting Upline to Build your Business

- three-way calls may be helpful, but you don't want new people to think they have to always rely on their upline

- your sponsor can help you develop and identify your skills

- your upline can help you with challenges, but don't expect them to always be there

4. Overloading with Too Much Information

- when you overload, you're overwhelming

- listen to the prospect's needs, take notes and repeat back to them

- be natural, don't just make presentation

5. Stuck in Show and Tell Mode

- make a dialogue, not a monologue

- be natural, don't make it sound like a presentation

- your underlying thought should focus on your prospect's needs

to listen to your heart when building your own

This is what you should focus on, what you like
and are good at, not what you don't like!

Success is in Your Hands

What do you think about your current business? Is it going forward and as successful as you want it to be, or is it falling behind?

Are you happy with your business or disappointed? Is it what you expected?

Are you looking to your sponsor for support and they are nowhere to be found? They are not even returning your calls?

What does the missing sponsor syndrome mean to you? The missing sponsor syndrome might mean simply that your sponsor is missing. You signed up with a sponsor whom you thought was terrific, you felt connected to this person, but now they are not returning your calls and you are feeling misled and disappointed.

Do you think you should be keeping up with the Jones' so to speak and placing $5,000.00 ads or designing postcards like your sponsor, but feel you can't afford it right now?

But think about it...is your success dependent upon your sponsor?

The truth is you don't have to do what your sponsor is doing, you just have to keep up with you. You must have the confidence in yourself to see yourself as a success. Make your goals and plans now for your success.

Your success is NOT dependent upon your sponsor it is dependent upon YOU! So the cure for the missing sponsor syndrome is you.

Don't put your success in the hands of others. Gain the experience and confidence in yourself, then the success will come.

What Does Your Target Market Want?

Although we might like to believe that people think
of others first, when it comes to your target market
people in general are egocentric and tend to look
out for their own interests first.

Therefore, when you are thinking of your target market
you should think about what your target market wants
or needs.

People generally think, what's in it for me, so when you
are prospecting, think...what's in it for them? How can
my product benefit them?

In order to do this there are three things you should do...
1. Use the product yourself.
2. Talk to others who use the product.
3. Talk to people who use competing products.

Try to figure out what your product offers that a competing
product may not. You must know what the features and
benefits are of your product.

Be benefit oriented when advertising and use the
words YOU not I!

Here are four questions to ask when thinking about what
your prospect wants:
1. What keeps your prospect awake at night?
2. What does your prospect want to avoid?
3. What are your prospect's daily frustrations?
4. What does your prospect desire most?

By asking these types of questions it can help you figure
out how your product or service can help your prospect.
Find out if you have the answer to these questions.

Here is a something to remember when figuring out
what your target market wants:

If you emphasize everything you experience nothing.

So be sure to find out the specific benefits of your product.

Don't focus on all the benefits just choose specific ones
that your target market wants or needs.

Be sure to ask the four questions above in order to figure
out what your target market wants.

Do You Have What it Takes?

Network marketing takes knowledge and patience. One piece of advice is to recruit those whom recruit.

If you continuously recruit opportunity seekers, they tend to remain opportunity seekers. They never learn how to become business owners. Therefore it is not a good idea to sponsor opportunity seekers; if you do your business may not continue to grow.

Opportunity seekers tend to get excited about making lots of money, but they don't realize that it takes time and effort on their part. As soon as they are faced with a problem in network marketing like someone saying 'no' to them they tend to back down and even drop out without trying very hard.

They do not know what it takes to become a business owner or have the staying power to succeed. It takes time and effort to grow your network marketing business, just like any other business.

So I recommend sponsoring business people. Those who have what it takes to succeed. Do you have what it takes or want to learn more?

Balance Business and Family

It is often difficult to find a balance in one's life when
it comes to working at home and family responsibility.

In order to achieve success in any business there must
be a goal and plans to achieve the goal. Consistent,
daily action helps to keep you focused on the goal
and get closer to it. It often helps to work backwards.

Start with the end result, which is the goal whether long
or short term and then make the daily plans around it.

When focusing on your business it can be difficult to get
everything done while taking care of a family too. So there
must be a balance. Decide what is the most important for
you. You could fill up a calendar with family plans like
birthdays, piano lessons, or hockey games, for example
and then plan your business schedule around this.

It certainly helps to have a calendar to look at, a schedule
and a journal to help keep you organized.

If you find that you are becoming overwhelmed, there may
be lack of a realistic plan. Once you decide what is urgent
then you can plan around this and make a consistent, daily
plan of action. That way you can relax when you know
everything is taken care of.

Your plan might include writing one blog per day and
calling five prospects per day, but be sure it is consistent.

If you have a consistent, daily plan of action and know that
your family is taken care of, you will be able to focus on the
business task at hand and achieve success.

Open Minded

It is important to leverage your information from prospects.
However leveraging is a skill.

Make sure you have a degree of credibility established and
when you make a call be sure to introduce yourself by saying
who you are and what you do.

Don't make the mistake of misleading your prospects and
manipulating them.

You need to qualify them and find out why they are interested
in working from home. Find out how much time they have
to devote to this and what type of budget they have available
without increasing debt.

By qualifying a prospect you get a feel for if they fit in your
business. Again don't manipulate them. If they don't qualify
understand that you may not have something for them.

Don't get discouraged, be open minded and open your
prospect's mind.

Five Essential Foundations of a Company

After having spent quite a number of years in Network
Marketing, I realize there are many people being mislead
into believing they will make a lot of money within a
short period of time and without doing much work.

While they may not be mislead intentionally, I do believe
it is the responsibility of each of us to investigate a company
prior to joining.

Ultimately, we are the ones who are signing on the dotted
line. Most honest companies will tell you to expect
3 to 5 years to see any significant income with effort.

Regardless of what anyone tells you, success does not happen
overnight. Many of the successful people in Network Marketing
have had years of experience and brought their downlines
from other companies with them, giving them leverage
when it comes to advancements and promotions.

Here are five specific things you should look at prior to
joining any company. This will help in determining
the structure and how solid the foundation of the
company is:

1. Examine the Integrity of the Company - This is by
far the most important part of joining any business
opportunity. Be sure to read the contract. Often people
fail to read the entire contract and the companies
realize this so may include negative parts of the policies
in the middle to latter part of the agreement. When you
are reading through your contract, take time and have
someone read it over with you if necessary.

2. Timing in the Industry - Be sure to find out if the
company has consistent growth. The company should
be at least 2 to 4 years old.

3. Great Products Priced Right - Does the product line
have many people that have a need for the product you
are trying to market?

4. Compensation Plan - When asked how much network
marketers would like to make on a monthly basis, the
typical response is $10,000.00. What is your goal?
Find out in advance exactly how many people you are
going to need to create a residual income of the amount
of money you desire. Keep in mind, the average number
of people recruited by any person is 2.7 people.

5. The System - It is quite important that there be a
duplicatable system in place. If there is no system, your
business will not grow. The goal is to bring highly effective
people together who can grow the business.

While the Network Marketing industry is an amazing
vehicle to create wealth from the comfort of your own
home, be careful.

Do your homework. Don't just jump in blindly without
doing the research. It's so important to find a company
that you can be proud of, knowing that you can introduce
others to it and nobody will get hurt or be mislead.

Creating Goals and Success

Goals are essential if you want to be successful in anything
you do. When you are developing your goals they should be
realistic. You might wish for ten thousand dollars per month,
but this is not realistic, certainly not starting out in a business.

A goal is a clearly defined plan of action and it must be effective.

For example a goal might be talking to ten people per day or
writing one article per day. A wish is something you long for
that might or might not be realistic.

When planning your goals you should expect success.

In other words expect to achieve these goals and be successful
in your business.

Make the goals achievable within a certain timeframe. Your
timeframe can be within a week, a month or even a year.

Believing that you will succeed is important in order to get
you through the rough times.

You want to be successful in your business, as we all do,
but did you realize that 97% of businesses fail?

So if you want to start out on the right foot it helps to have
a supportive environment. Don't give up if you want to be
successful. Many people give up too soon and may not have
the motivation required to be successful.

Realize that there may be rocks to climb and bridges to cross,
but you will get there eventually. Having a successful business
will not always mean a smooth ride.

A can-do attitude helps, in other words believing in yourself
and knowing you can do it, as well as having support from
friends, family and a strong team.
